You know, I just found this review. I never got the notice in my email, and I was cruising through my old stories--feeling nostalgic, I guess--and I found this.
So, first of all, my apologizes for not replying sooner.
I'm glad you liked the backpack part. It's such a tricky subject to approach--how Sam finally told Dean he was leaving or, in this case, how Dean found out that Sam was leaving. Everybody's got their own spin on it. Hell, I think I have five or six, which differ only suit whatever story I need it for.
The John part was one of the first parts I had written. That and the two ending scenes, too.
*sigh*
I really liked this fic, too.
Now I feel the need to go wandering through the rest of my old stories and see what other reviews I've missed...
